Lenders announce a great deal: rate changes, criteria updates, service commitments, product launches and repositioning. Only a fraction of it changes which cases can be placed and how.
This matters because attention is the scarce resource in a broker's week. Following everything is impossible, so most advisers develop an informal filter — and those filters are rarely compared.
Discussion questions:
- How do you decide which lender announcements are worth reading properly?
- Which types of announcement most often turn out to matter more than they first appeared?
- Where has a change been communicated so poorly that you found out through a declined case?
Please describe patterns rather than repeating confidential lender communications.
Adviser Forum publishes prompts like this to open professional discussion, not to set out a position. Contributions carrying practical detail are the most valuable, provided they contain no client information, no regulated advice and no confidential material belonging to your firm or a third party.
