Cookie Policy
Adviser Forum uses cookies and similar technologies (local storage) to run the site, remember your preferences and — with your permission — measure how it's used. This page explains what we set and why, and lets you change your mind.
Version 2026-07-17. Last updated 17 July 2026.
What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by your browser. We also use local storage, which works similarly but stays on your device and is not sent with every request. In this policy we use "cookie" as shorthand for both.
Categories we use
- Strictly necessary — required to make the forum work (sign-in, security, session, consent). These are always on and don't need your consent under UK PECR because they're essential to the service you asked for.
- Analytics — help us understand which pages are used and where things break. Off unless you turn them on.
- Functional — remember non-essential preferences like theme and list filters. Off unless you turn them on.
- Marketing — set only if you've asked us to send you newsletters or product updates.

| af.theme (local storage) | Functional | Remembers your light/dark theme preference. | 12 months |
| af.analytics.* | Analytics | Aggregated, non-identifying usage stats to help us improve the forum. Only set if you consent to analytics. | 13 months |

Changing your mind
Use Manage cookie preferences above at any time. Signed-in members can also see their consent history in Privacy settings.
Browser controls
You can also clear or block cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in and other core functions.
